1. What is Aiden?

Aiden is a post-hardcore band originated from Seattle, Washington. The band has four members: Will Francis, vocalist/lyricist; Nick Wiggins, bassist; Jake Davison, drummer; and Angel Ibarra, guitarist. The band name comes from the little boy character in the horror movie, The Ring.

2. Okay, now that I know the basics Whats the bands history?

Its as long as the Great Wall of China so Ill try my best to paraphrase. Need more details, either PM me or one of the mods.

Jake and Angel attended school together as kids. The band started as a simple hobby between the two and a mutual friend, Scott, who served as the bands first singer. Jake was friends with former guitarist Jake Wambolds brother and Wambold, who played in other bands, eventually joined Aiden once his band broke up.

Will Francis met the three through the original singer and initially played bass for the band until Scott left. Will then took over the role as frontman and Nick Wiggins was at some point stolen from another band called Bent Cactus Aiden had played a couple of shows with.

In 2005, Aiden received public exposure with music media sources such as the television network FUSE and the magazines Alternative Press and Kerrang! Since then, Aiden have taken part in tours such as the Never Sleep Again Tour 2005, Bamboozle 2006 and 2009, Taste of Chaos 2007, Warped Tour 2008 and 2009, and Reading and Leeds Festival 2007.

It was officially announced on May 20^th, 2008 that Jake Wambold had parted ways with the band.

Aiden won the Kerrang! Awards for Best International Newcomer and the Metal Hammer Award for Best Newcomer in 2006. They were nominated in 2007 for the Kerrang! Awards for Best Live Band.

3. Have the band released any records?

Five, actually. In total, the band has sold over 325,000 records. Listed below in chronological order are:

Our Gangs Dark Oath- December 1^st, 2004 Aidens debut disk released on a small budget in 2004 off of Dead Teenager Records. Later on re-released by Victory Records sometime in 2005. Well-known songs include I Set My Friends On Fire and World By Storm.

Nightmare Anatomy- October 4th, 2005 After getting their big break by being signed to Victory Records in 2005, Aiden released their second record Nightmare Anatomy. Singles include Knife Blood Nightmare, The Last Sunrise, and Die Romantic. As the latter two singles were shown on the television channel Fuse an adequate number of times, perhaps the new exposure can be considered their second big break. Every Aiden record since this album plus the record from Wills side project (which I will get into later) has been released off of Victory.

Rain In Hell EP- October 31^st, 200, At the time of this writing, I learned this thing comes with a bonus DVD. SUH-WEET! Includes covers of Billy Idols White Wedding and the Misfits Die, Die, My Darling. It also contains the track We Sleep Forever whose music video is on the movie Dead Silences DVD.

Conviction-August 21^st, 2007 Singles include One Love and Moment. This album takes a drastic turn from the bands previous style and experiments with a sort of 80s vibe. Dont let that deter you if you dont have it yet, though, because its totally awesome.

Note for in between records: About nine months after the dropping of Conviction, Jake Wambold parted ways with the band, marking the bands change in lineup to the present-day quartet.

Knives-May 12^th, 2009 If you have this record and easily offended Christian parents, play the fifth track as loudly as you can on your stereo. Go on, I dare you. Produced by Will, Knives marks yet another dramatic style transition for the band and is arguably their most controversial album to date. Familiar songs may include Scavengers of the Damned and Let the Right One In.

4. Cool! Where is the best place to get these records?

Of course, like many other bands, Aidens albums can be picked up at your local record shop or corporation chain store. However, if you live in the U.S. a good place to go if you want to pick up Conviction or Knives is Best Buy. Aiden or Victory Records or somebody has some weird contract with Best Buy so the copies of the latter two albums stocked in those stores have exclusive bonus tracks.

Conviction bonus tracks are Here Lies the Waste and So Far Away which, as far as Im aware, cant be found anywhere else legally. Knives bonus tracks are all acoustic demos of songs such as Black Market Hell, King on Holiday, Elizabeth, and Let the Right One In. The final, full-instrumental versions of Knivess demos can be found on both versions of the album.

5. Hey, I recognize that dude! Or do I? Final question, do any of the Aiden members have side projects?

All of them do, in fact.

Will has an electronica side-project called William Control and is currently writing the second record. The debut disk Hate Culture was released October 28^th, 2008. The sole single to come off the record was Beautiful Loser but if you have very prudish family members, I bet theyd love it if you played track 11^th track as loud as you possibly could on your stereo. Do it, I dare you. When it comes to William Control tours, Nick plays the bass.

In a collaboration with Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio, the song Deathclub was created for the Underworld: Rise of the Lycans soundtrack.

In a literature collaboration, he wrote for a poetry book called Flowers and Filth while his good friend and partner, Lisa Johnson, took the pictures.

(Lisa Johnson, in fact, takes A LOT of pictures of Will and the rest of the band; shes also the photographer of the album artwork in Hate Culture. If you see a particularly good photo of the band, theres a high chance it was taken by her. Shes very talented.)

When hes not touring with William Control or working on Aiden, Nick plays for another band called Me Vs. Myself. The group have played a few shows around the Seattle area and MvM actually does have a record, but you can only get it by going to a show. You can also hear a few awesome tracks on their MySpace page.

Other members are Carson Allen, Frank Gross, and Jaron Johnson.

A Teacher At My School....

Today I wore one of my Aiden jackets to school, and while walking to my class a teacher that we share the portable with came up to me and said "Your jacket..." And I was thinking "Oh great, it's like innapropriate or something" But then she was like "Aiden, the drummer, Jake I was his teacher when I worked at Fife Highschool." So then of course I turned into a retard and gave her a hug. And started chatting with her about Aiden. She's an eighth grade teacher, so I hope I get her next year.

Not that interesting but cool enough.
